Busy Times At Alpha Pi

It's been a busy and exciting few weeks here at Temple University. As the school year comes to a close, the men of the Alpha Pi chapter have been busier than ever.

Recently, Temple University, in conjunction with the Temple University Greek Association, held it's annual Greek Week. With events ranging from a block party to greek olympics, the Alpha Pi chapter had an amazing showing. We were proud to take home 3rd place overall!

Over the past few months, brothers Gavi Cohen and Nate Rosen have been working hard to put together a Holocaust Remembrance event. Last Wednesday, the culmination of their efforts came together for an incredible event held at the Hillel Center here on campus. The night included two incredible speakers, Anthony Morrone and Sarita Russ Gocial. Mr. Morrone was a United States soldier who was among the first to liberate the Buchenwald concentration camp. He was gracious enough to share his experience and remind us all of the horrific events that took place. Sarita Russ Gocial is a child of two Holocaust survivors. She has held many positions with various local and international organizations. For the past five years she has been Chair of Philadelphia’s Annual Memorial Ceremony for the Six Million Jewish Martyrs. This event was initiated by the Survivor community of Philadelphia in 1964 with the dedication of the Monument to the Six Million Jewish Martyrs; the first monument to the Six Million in the United States. Nate and Gavi did an amazing job and the event was a great experience as wel as a reminder that we can never forget the horrors of the Holocaust.

This past Sunday, Alpha Pi held it's annual Parenthood Day at the house. This great event allowed parents to come out and see the wonderful house and meet the brothers. Featuring a beautiful catered lunch and a video presentation, a great time was had by all!
